Perfect Flower Girl Shoes

You don’t have to stress over this recent development. Yeah, your daughter might only be five years old and known to pick her nose in front of your in-laws. Who cares? That’s what kids are famous for! You may have every reason to think that as she’s walking down the aisle with her cute little bouquet of flowers that she’ll inexplicably sit down and start bawling her eyes out. Or maybe she’ll erupt into total chaos and run amok. What better thing to happen at the wedding of that scoundrel who used to give you wet willies when you were kids? Don’t freak out about your cute little girl’s up-coming task. She’ll be able to handle it.

You have her dress picked out already, right? Well then that’s half the difficulty right there. Everything will be fine. Now all that’s left for you to do is to find your little flower girl a nice pair of shoes to wear to the wedding.

Shoes for flower girls come in all sorts of styles. Being that they’re made for young children, you’re not going to find any with high heels, but other than that you’ll find just as many different shoes for flower girls as you would expect to find for adult women. Choosing the style will, of course, depend on the season, what the bride wants, and what you can get your little girl to wear. You can pick between open toed shoes and closed toe shoes. There are ones which resemble cute little slippers for a fairy princess, and there are shoes with delicate straps and cute miniature buckles and lots of other tiny details. Maybe Mary Janes are the way to go. Those are readily available, too. If your flower girl is just a toddler then there are plenty of pretty formal shoes for them, as well.

Shoes for flower girls are almost always white. This is because it’s a popular color and it can be dyed to match any color scheme. Such shoes range in price from around $20 to $40, so you’re not going to empty your wallet for your sweet angel’s endeavor. Plain shoes are less expensive, whereas hand-trimmed shoes add to the cost. Many wedding stores will dye your shoes for free. The few that do charge for dying the shoes don’t charge that much.

Weddings are one of the most important events of our lives. You should be proud if your daughter has been chosen to be the flower girl in someone’s wedding. Don’t worry about her punching the ring bearer in the face. There’s nothing you can do about that. What you do have control over is the shoes she wears. Your local bridal shop will provide all the help you need for finding your little girl the right pair of shoes for her day as a flower girl.

Comfortable Sandals For Any Occasion

There are many different kinds of sandals on the market, offering a wide range of colors, styles and comfort. While some sandals are created to accompany colorful beachwear, there are other kinds that can be worn, such as with the sultriest of dresses. Other types of sandals are fashioned for adventurous individuals tackling hiking trails and other sports. In all these instances, you should find a pair that is comfortable, meaning taking care of your feet should come before fashion.

The best sandal for you is one that offers adequate support. Comfort and maintaining foot care are the most important factors to keep in mind. Take special care to the arch of your foot because this is the body part that helps to keep your posture, as well as allows you to properly walk. Try to purchase sandals that offer good arch support for your foot. You will find that some selections offer built in support while others, such as brands made from cork, will conform to your foot the more you wear them.

The sole of your sandal should be one that is a little bit bigger than your own foot. You know you have chosen right when your toes do not fall over the edge of your sandal. Beware of sandals with hard soles because they may cause pain in the long run. Sandal soles should also be thick. After all, this is the only thing keeping you from touching the ground. Thick soles provide much needed protection.

When purchasing a sandal, you should go for the ones that have straps that fit securely onto your foot. This is what keeps the sole from staying against your foot. Adjustable straps are a convenient feature to have on a pair of sandals, rather than an elastic strap that may stretch out over time. Choosing the right sandal for your foot is as easy as picking out thick soles, adjustable straps, good arch support and above all else, a comfortable selection. After all of that is squared away, you can focus on the fashion forward statement you’d like to make with your footwear.

Halloween Contact Lenses

Special effect contacts have been used in film, television, and theatre, even rock concert stages, for years, and now they’re available at affordable prices to you, the consumer. You can find decorative contact lenses in all kinds of styles. From simple colors (ever wanted to be a red-eyed alien or a green-eyed reptile?) to elaborate designs (zebra stripes, stars, flowers, X’s…) there are as many ways to use decorative contact lenses to enhance your Halloween ensemble as there are jack o’ lanterns aglow on All Hallow’s Eve.

Some of the great designs and styles of Halloween contacts available this year include: hypnotic spirals, cat eyes, wolf eyes, eagle eyes, bloodshot eyes, flames, all-white, all-black. It really gets your creative wheels spinning doesn’t it? What are you going to be this year after all?

One variable you’ll have to consider when poring through the choices is whether you want Halloween contact lenses that cover the entire sclera (that’s the whites of your eyes) or just the pupil (the eyeball). There’s plenty in either category, making it either harder or easier to decide, depending upon your viewpoint.

Knowing the kind of look you’re going for will help a lot. Are you, for example, trying to transform yourself into a particular character (a Vampire, possibly, or even more specifically, the Vampire Lestat himself – because that’s available too)? Special effects lenses that include the entire sclera often creates an all-encompassing, fully-transformative effect, incorporating more of the whole body into “becoming” this other figure. But maybe you merely want to accentuate a “look”, the zeitgeist of an era, or an abstract concept. For this latter option, a cute design or a picture superimposed on your pupil alone, like a temporary tattoo, might be just the thing.

Some current favorites of the decorative lenses you’ll find include those with the Biohazard /”Radioactive” symbol, symbols of poker suits, stars-and-stripes, Dune eyes, dollar-sign eyes, spider webs, smiley faces, both Predator eyes and Alien eyes, both Darth Vader and the Sith. You’ll find styles and designs both timely and timeless as you explore all the options of Halloween lenses available.

Crucial in the safe and responsible use of special effect contact lenses for Halloween or at any other time, according to the FDA, is involvement by a licensed eye care professional. In fact, it’s the law. Decorative lenses improperly made or used improperly have been known to cause permanent eye injury and even eventual blindness. Therefore, you must see your eye doctor before shopping for Halloween contact lenses to get proper fitting and instructions as well as the necessary prescription. You will need this whether you ordinarily wear prescription lenses or not. And don’t even think of purchasing decorative lenses from any store (online or off) that doesn’t ask for your prescription; it is illegal.

Some of the things your doctor will invariably tell you are that decorative contact lenses are not for everyday wear. Consider them for special occasions only. Never sleep or swim or bathe with them in, and don’t use them while engaging in any activity that requires sharp visual acuity, for example cooking or driving or operating heavy machinery. In plain English – someone could get hurt.

Wearing Purple

The trick, however, is in the manner you choose the other accessories and how you combine your purple with other colors depending on the shade of purple you decide to wear. Other bright colors are a big no-no with purple. Pinks, oranges and red are color which you should not even give a single glance to while deciding to wear something purple.

If you are in the mood to wear a bright shade of purple, then you should consider dark accessories or a black coat to go along. A black skirt / trouser with a light purple top will make you look like royalty. Dark purple, on the other hand, should be teamed with light neutral colors like beige, cream and off-white. If you don’t want to be ousted by your friends and colleagues in a social gathering couple purple only with blacks, brown, cream, beige, white or on the outside a tan color. At no cost should you include any other colors.

If you are not confident about being able to decide the right color mix and are not positive that you can carry off a purple dress but still want to flirt with the color, you could try adding a hint of purple t your attire by using purple accessories. These could be in the form of buttons, earrings, scarves or pins.

But this piece of advice does not mean that you venture out and wear purple socks or shoes to match your purple shirt. It will smack of being cheap and flashy. Avoid purple shoes and any kind of purple dresses which are the same color from top to bottom. Too much of purple makes you look exactly the opposite of what you want to appear as. Purple should be used selectively with a certain angle to give a hint of nattiness without seeming to be flashy.

Care for Silver Jewelry

One of the first rules of keeping your silver jewelry shining, is to store it properly in acid-free paper, or cloth especially for that purpose. Put them in a drawer or other safe place, that is away from exposure to wood or other types of smoke.

It is best to keep jewelry polished, instead of trying to play “catch up” when it has become heavily tarnished. But there are a number of ways to deal with the darkening color.

There are many home solutions, such as using white toothpaste and a soft brush. However, some jewelers point out that silver is not tooth enamel, and can’t withstand the abrasive content. Although on things like chains, it’s unlikely you would see any resulting scratches.

Commercial solutions do work, but depending on the nature of your jewelry (e.g. whether it contains gemstones or pearls), you may not be able to submerge it completely, and the cleaning will be uneven.

One basis of both commercial and home cleaning solutions, is the creation of an electrochemical cell, where there is a metal ingredient that is anodic to silver. This means that it will help turn the silver in the sulphide tarnish, back to silver.

A favorite home treatment is to line a pot with aluminum foil, one of the metals anodic to silver, put your jewelry in, and cover it with water, then add several tablespoons of baking soda. Boil gently until you see that the discoloration is gone. Your jewelry may be completely clean, or may have a white powder on its surface from the oxidization. This can be removed easily with a baking soda paste. Remember to exercise caution in cleaning silver jewelry. If it is not purely silver, like a chain or bracelet, the treatment you use can damage soft stone or pearls.

Alpinestars Boots

I was a bit discouraged after I saw the price of a pair of Alpinestars boots cost. In fact, the newest Tech 10 model would cost me almost an entire month’s salary. The Tech 6 and the other older models were still pretty pricey compared to other brands.

Anyway, I decide to try a pair on. I couldn’t believe how well they fit and how comfortable they were right out of the box. I asked the clerk at the store if I could get a discount or if there were any sales coming up. However, he said that there’s so much demand for them at any price so they rarely put Alpinestars boots on sale.

I decided to try looking up some motocross gear websites just to get a quick price comparison as soon as I got back home. Fortunately, found several sites that sell Alpinestars boots for far less than what I saw in the stores. There were even a couple of sites that featured low-price guarantees and price matching policies.

You can be sure that I didn’t waste any time in ordering the pair I wanted. I ended up saving a good chunk of change even with the shipping costs. I’ve been using my boots for a couple of months now, and I have to say that I really like them. These boots provide great protection, and look cool with the rest of my motocross gear.

Frye Boots

The oldest shoe company under continuous operation in the United States, Frye boot company was founded in the mid 19th century. The founder, John Frye was actually a shoemaker that had immigrated to the United States from England. He ran the Frye boot company for 50 years before his family took over upon his death.

The Frye boots themselves have a great history. During the Civil War, many of the soldiers on both sides wore them. They were also on the feet of soldiers in the Spanish-American war as well as Rough Riders led by Teddy Roosevelt. Many pioneers heading west for a better life during the late 1800’s wore Frye boots as well.

Today, Frye boots are still known for quality. Their Harness Boots have a wonderful history in themselves. In 1938, the grandson of Frye boot’s founder took a trip to Washington D.C. There, he bet a Naval Admiral who was explaining to him that he had trouble finding the style of boot he liked really well, the Wellington. John agreed that he would make him a pair. Eventually they were given the name of Jet Boots and were ordered by mail by soldiers all the way through the second World War.

By the time the 1960’s rolled around, Frye boots were ready to introduce something new. The Campus Boot had a bulky toe and clunky style that was a big part of the style of the 1960’s and 1970’s. In fact, a pair of Frye boots was chosen for the Smithsonian to represent the America of 60’s. They still remain on display there.

Even today, Frye boots are a huge success and a part of the culture of America. Their signature boot, the Harness Boot, ahs been seen in a number of international fashion spreads. In addition, their boots sell well in not only the United States, but also in Europe and Japan.

Handcrafted Bracelets

A handcrafted bracelet is when an artisan personally picks out the beads and colors him/herself. And then decides on a design, stringing material, and what kind of impression this piece of jewelry should make. There really is a lot that goes into the thought process.

I can tell you that I personally create all of my bracelets…. I take a whole evening, or even days to create a special piece. In my jewelry box–you can expect to see that not one design is exactly the same. I get so many compliments on my work that they ask me–where did you buy that?…. (of course the ones who know me well know that I have made it myself, and compliment me on my artwork)–but for those who don’t know me, they will just sigh in amazement that it seems almost impossible to create..

So when I say a handcrafted bracelet is something to cherish–I truly mean it. There is so much work from the heart that goes into it-thats why its so hard for a true jewelry artisan to part with his/her jewelry–It becomes a part of us.

–The next time you receive a handcrafted bracelet or any other piece of jewelry–take it as a compliment. It means that you are special to that person and they wanted to find something original and unique to give you…

Gaucho Clothes

The alpargatas, which is a rope sole and canvas shoe. The bombachas de campo, very strong pure cotton trousers and the boina hat. These elements all have a European origin and they started to be worn by the gaucho around the middle of the 19th century.

The alpargatas in English known as espadrilles were originally made with black canvas but are now produced with a wide range of colours and patterns; some have rubber sole as well.

The bombachas de campo are made in different colours, styles and designs but the most popular colours are still the traditional: khaki, black, white, dark blue and dark green. These trousers are immediately identifiable because of the button they have at the ankle which is used to narrow them.

The very fashionable gaucho pants similar to the capri pants are different because of this reason, they do not go down to the ankle and because they are worn mainly by women which is not the case of the bombachas de campo which are unisex.

Another element used by the gauchos which is also a very fashionable item is the poncho, used in winter to protect from the cold winters in the pampas

It can be stated that these clothing items are today worn not only by the gauchos, because as they have become fashionable, designers in Argentina have developed and improved the original designs so they have become very popular with the general public.

Another reason for the gaucho clothes fashion is the association with the polo environment. Polo players and fans have always been keen users of gaucho clothes so the association has proven a trend to follow.

About Low-rise Jeans

Rises in jeans (the distance from the crotch to the waistband) range from the high-waisted to the superlow-rise. The lastest in jeans fashion are the low-rise jeans. These have a deliberately low-cut waist intended to sit low on, or below, the hips. Also known as lowcut jeans, hipsters, hip-huggers and lowriders, they are intentionally cut lower on the waist, thus covering less body on front (the belly) and the back. Usually these jeans sit at least three inches lower than the belly button.

The “rise” of jeans is determined by the distance between the crotch and the waist and is usually around 10 inches on the regular conventional pants. In contrast, lowrise jeans typically have a rise of about 6 inches. Several brandmanufacturers also highlight the feature by altering the rise of the zipper. They create pants with zippers far shorter than regular pants, usually between 2 and 3 inches, while some other manufacturers go to the extent of reducing the size of the zippers to1 inch , such as Dorinha Wear. The latter can also be classified as ultra lowrise jeans, and the small zipper no longer serves its traditional function, but rather becomes an embellishment and a display of fashion.

Although low-rise jeans came into existence as early as in the 1960s, their renewed popularity among young women, and the subsequent lower back tattoo trends they inspired, were one of the earliest phenomena that distinguished the popular fashion of the 2000s from that of the previous decade. Becoming aware that their underwear is no longer always hidden inside their pants, more people choose the underwear they wear more carefully, to show it off with their low-rise jeans. The thong is most in vogue as it is paired with the lowrise jeans by many. It exposes more skin than it covers and is worn more for fashion than as an article of utility. The conventional panty is also still worn regularly under the lowrise jeans. Another fashion trend is to wear no underwear at all.

Tattoos placed on the lower belly or back are very popular with wearers of low-rise jeans. While the regular above-the- navel pants would normally not have displayed a tattoo on those spots, it now becomes visible and also very attractive, especially when in a semi-revealed state.

The fashion trend of stretch, tight and low rise jeans has had its enemies. In 2003, Dr. Malvinder S. Parmar’s study revealed that wearing tight lowrise jeans puts unnecessasary pressure on a sensory nerve, which can cause pain and paresthesia in the nerve’s area of distribution. This condition is known as Meralgia paresthetica and shows symptoms of a tingling or a burning sensation some of the thigh muscles. The problem with previously examined patients was resolved when they avoided wearing tight, low-rise jeans, and recovery took about 4 to 6 weeks.
